Privacy Policy & Cookies Statement (updated April 2023)


Data Science Talent Limited, Data Science Talent LLC and DST Profiler Limited are a group of companies (the ‘DST Group’) that share data with each other under a Data Processing Agreement. 


We are the DST Group (‘we’, ‘us’, ‘our’) and this Privacy Policy applies to our ‘profiler’ service only.  Our privacy policy for all other purposes is https://www.datasciencetalent.co.uk/privacy-policy/ We are trading from Unit E Whitebridge Estate, Whitebridge Lane, Stone, Staffordshire ST15 8LQ.


This statement will be updated from time to time, and the most current version will always be available on our websites.



WHAT IS THE PURPOSE OF THIS STATEMENT?


We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information.


This Privacy Policy explains how we collect and use your Personal Data and is provided in accordance with our obligations under applicable privacy and data protection law, including the Data Protection Act 2018, the UK GDPR (which retains the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (General Data Protection Regulation), and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (collectively the ‘Applicable Data Protection Legislation’). DST Group follows these standards though Data Science Talent LLC will respect any additional legal obligations arising from its Delaware Incorporation, but it will not fall below the Applicable Data Protection Legislation expectations.


For the purposes of this Privacy Policy, the term ‘Personal Data’ means any information which identifies you or which allows you to be identified when combined with other information. It does not include data where your identity has been removed (‘Anonymised Data’).  For the purposes of Applicable Data Protection Law, we are the data controller in relation to the processing of your personal data when provided by you to us.



OUR LEGAL BASIS FOR USING YOUR PERSONAL DATA


If using the profiler service, you must consent to do so, and that is the main basis for any personal data processing, though we also process personal data on the following legal bases: our legitimate interests; the performance of a contract, or to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.






WHAT PERSONAL DATA WILL WE COLLECT FROM YOU?

You will give us personal data by using the profiler; you may also do so by filling in forms on one of our websites or by corresponding with us by phone, e-mail or otherwise. This includes information you provide when you register to use one of our websites, subscribe to one of our services, submit your CV to us, or any other communication with us.  To use our profiler, you will have to consent to the policy and provide consent for the information you share to generate the report.  The information gathered may be shared within the DST Group as described in this policy or in line with the terms of use of the profiler.

DATA SECURITY?


All information you provide to us is stored on our secure servers and is protected using industry-standard Secure Layer (SSL) Encryption Technology.


We will do our best to protect your personal data, although as the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure, we cannot guarantee the security of your data transmitted to our site; any transmission is at your own risk. Once we have received your information, we will use strict procedures and security features to try to prevent unauthorised access, misuse or loss.

HOW LONG DO WE KEEP YOUR PERSONAL DATA?


We keep your personal data in accordance with the following data retention periods:


Personal data – 6 years since the last contact with you, where contact means addition of your personal data to our database, verbal or written communication with you. 


We will endeavour to permanently erase your personal data once it reaches the end of its retention period or where we receive a valid request from you to do so.  Sometimes however, some of your personal data may need to be maintained for another legal purpose, and where this is so, this data will be put beyond use of all but senior staff for compliance with the legal purpose, meaning that while it still exists on a system, it cannot be readily accessed by operational systems, processes or non-senior staff.



TRANSFER OF DATA OUTSIDE OF THE EEA


Sharing of Personal Data sometimes involves cross-border data transfers, including transfers outside of the UK in accordance with the law, and that maybe to locations outside the EEA. We only transfer Personal Data to entities in third countries that have provided appropriate safeguards to ensure that their level of data protection is in agreement with this privacy policy and applicable law, for example under contractual provisions which have been deemed to provide sufficient safeguards for Personal Data.  Whenever we transfer your personal data out of the UK, we request a similar degree of protection is afforded to it as we give it, by asking for appropriate safeguards are implemented.

Withdraw your consent at any time, where we rely on your consent for processing your personal data.  This will not affect the lawfulness of any processing of your personal data carried out before you withdraw your consent, nor ongoing contractual or other legal obligations requiring us to process personal data, for example a court order.


Request access to your personal data (commonly known as a “data subject access request” or “SAR”). This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you and to check that we are lawfully processing it.  We aim to respond electronically to SARs within one month.  In circumstances where it may take us longer to respond (for example if your request is particularly complex or if you make a series of requests), we will notify you.  We do not charge a fee for responding to SARs, however, we may charge a reasonable fee if your SAR is manifestly unfounded or excessive.  We may also refuse to comply with SARs where an exemption applies, including where a request is manifestly unfounded or excessive.  We also reserve the right to require proof of your identity before responding.
